2007 Trinidad Carnival in Review
Well Trini Carnival 2K7 come and gone an everybody cussin' IZATRINI.com for
being so slack to only now update de website with 2007 Trinidad Carnival Results, Video and Pictures. Trust meh much more to come so stay locked. We eh have no
excuses except to say dat we have to recover too!
Carnival was sweet too bad, the IZATRINI.com crew was in full force for Trini
Carnival and we take in real fete and jump up with Tribe on the Road Monday and Tuesday.
Hats off to the Tribe Carnival Committee because they have succeeded in officially
having the most organized mas band in Trinidad Carnival History, I don't think anyone will dispute that. Further more it was
the most enjoyable mas experience we have ever enjoyed and 2007 was no exception. IZATRINI.com is an official supporter
of Tribe "The Ultimate Carnival Experience". IZATRINI.com took Carnival photos exclusively of Tribe and it was a sight to
behold. Also look out for Carnival video footage on the road. In the meanwhile check out the Pan Yard Rounds during Carnival
week to Renegades and Phase II.

Soca Monarch Finals LIVE on the NET from JumpTV
To all my Trini People who asking for the longest while, the
14th annual International Soca Monarch Finals will be witnessed live on Fantastic Friday 16th February not only by patrons at the Hasely Crawford
Stadium in Trinidad but also by an online audience around the world! 
This year’s competition will be webcast live on www.socamonarch.co.tt courtesy JumpTV.com and Caribbean Prestige Foundation for the performing
arts (CPF).
The competition is scheduled to begin at 9:30pm
with artistes from as far as Japan (Minmi) and the UK (SW Storm) competing against Regional Artistes from Grenada (Mr. Killa,
Nnika Francis and Sheldon Douglas) and Barbados (Barry Chandler) and our very own Faye Ann Lyons, Denise Belfon, Dawg E Slaughter,
Blaxx, Michelle Sylvester, Patrice Roberts, Rikki Jai, Rita Jones, Iwer George, etc.
Destra Garcia and Jamaican Dancehall King Beenie Man will be
making special guest appearances.
Yuh cah afford to miss this one!

Reporting Live from Carnival Central: It's Official...
Well de IZATRINI crew reporting live and direct from Trini and it is official. "Jumbie" is Road March,
Machel Montano HD was in full form last night in the Hasley Crawford Stadium with a production choreographed by none other
than the man himself Peter Minshall.
Upon entry into the national stadium one could see two sections with VIP carefully sectioned off with food and
drinks. De vibes on both sides of the fence was sweet nonetheless with the usual flag wavers and the Machel Powder Posse in
all deh glory. The stage was filled with special Machel invited guest artist, Kes the Band, Prophet Benjamin, Mr. Vegas, Vybz
Kartel, Benji, KMC, David Rudder with Carl and Carol Jacobs and many more. Machel made his grand appearance on stage at around
2;00 am with the “Tribe” – some 100 or so dreadlocks and white gown clad crew swaying to the music much like a spiritual Baptist
choir. With the glow of the black light bouncing off of Machel in his white suit he chanted repeatedly to the crowd to “rezzerek”
all to the pounding of some deep drums.
Machel continued the show with a series of his soca hits one after the other; ah mean every song he sang was
a hit at one time or another. Then “Minmi” made her way to the stage to sing her 2007 track “Sha Na Na - Japanese Wine” and
literally the crowd was a little shell-shocked because the Japanese sensation recording voice was not on par with her live
stage voice. Give her credit though, her energy level was amazing but we don’t feel she was well received by the crowd and
we wish her all the luck with the unforgiving audience at the Soca Monarch final.
The grand finale was a sight to behold with Peter Minshall’s Tan Tan and Saga Boy figures in all white
with skull faces representing “Jumbies”. Machel erupted in a Jumbie stance and the entire crowd was doing de Jumbie dance
in a frenzy. The way the crowd reacted to Machel and de Jumbie dance anyone in deh right mind could tell that the “Jumbie”
will be de hit on de road for 2007. Machel HD excelled and this is a must see concert, so for all those that miss out dis
year need to make sure they never miss out again.

2007 World Premier Soca Music Video - Cold Sweat by Crazy
Well when last you see a soca music video from Crazy? I doh even remember seeing one, I am sure I have many
moons ago but it has been so long I have no recollection at all. The "Lovable Lunatic" mashin' up de place with his hit track
for 2007 "Cold Sweat" and now an interesting music video. Remember your saw it first on IZATRINI.com.

Superblue and Family
 I was reading the Trinidad Newsday and noticed that in an unexpected twist Superblue appeared on stage with daughters
Faye-Ann Lyons and Terri as well as son-in-law Bunji Garlin. Jean Pierre Complex was in total chaos with the nostalgic performance of Super singing his greatest
hits like "Soca Baptist", "Ethel" and "Get Something and Wave".
Super just came out of the crowd unexpectadly and shocked the
crowed into an uproar. Faye-Ann paid tribute to her father by mentioning to the crowd that "He is the boss and the one who
have everybody jumping and waving today."
I could just imagine the action that took place on that stage.
Who could forget the days of Super when he was in his prime with those hit songs. Super had a way to move a crowd like no
one else. The eight-time Road March champion gave the crowd something to remember.
Destra Garcia and Shurwayne Winchester also appeared in the
"Ladies Night Out" fete singing their hits "I Dare You" and "Open the Gate" respectively, much to the delight of the crowd.

reigning king Rooplal Gidharie include Heeralal Rampartap, Marva Mckenzie, Rikki Jai, Adesh Samaroo.They will be accompanied
by Bands JMC Trevani, TTEC Gayatones, Dil E Nadan and supported by the best Chutney Soca dance groups like the St. John’s
Tassa, the Courts Nirvana, CLICO Shiv Shakti and Durga Shakti dancers. Machel Montano is tipped to make a special guest appearance
at the Finals.

Machel Montano HD in de Garden...
 Madison Square Garden that is! Well yes Machel and Soca real reach, you realize de kindda celebs that have appeared in de
Garden? Take a step back and focus on the enormity of this announcement for a second.
Yeah, now yuh know what I talking about. Machel will be on
the same stage that greats such as Micheal Jackson, Mariah, Jay-Z and some big big names have appeared on.
Lord only you know what is store for Machel and Xtatik, taking
Soca music to higher and higher heights each and every year. Trinis and Caribbean people have to be extremely grateful.

A New Soca Star is Born
 Umi Marcano was awarded the 2007 Synergy TV Soca Star title. The final competiton was held at the Jean Pierre Complex on February
1st. Umi trounced on the competition performing Machel's "One More Time" and his own selection "Move that Body", getting nuff
respect on the airwaves.
Now meh body in de bid time with a place in the 2007 International Soca Monarch
finals as well as sweet mini SUV to coast, a production and soca music video deal with Ma$tamind Productions.
Large up yuhself Umi, all de best for the future.
