Machel Montano Cleans Up At International Soca Awards
CaribWorldNews, BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Weds. Oct. 22, 2008: Soca star Machel Montano HD again
walked away with the most awards at this year`s 6th Annual International Soca Awards.
The awards, held over the weekend in St. Kitts, saw Montano take home some five awards, including Male Soca
Performer of the Year, Over All Male Soca Artists of the Year, Best Soca Collaboration up Tempo, Soca Artist Album/CD of the
year and Over All Soca Band of the Year award.
Faye-Ann Lyons won for Female Soca Performer of the Year, Soca Song
of the Year and Over All Female Soca Artist of the Year. The Best New Female Soca Artist award went to Zoelah while the Male
Soca Vocalist of the Year went to Kerwin Du Bois. Du Bois also won the Soca producer of the year title.
Meanwhile,
performers at the event included Kerwin Du Bois, Kamau, Kassi, Sizwe C, Crazy, SKHI and Zoelah.
