Gabrielle Walcott places 3rd in the 2008 Miss World Competition
 The 24 year old powerhouse, Gabrielle Walcott placed 3rd today December 13th in the 2008 Miss World Competition in Johannesburg, South Africa.
With her stunning beauty and wit Gabrielle gives a whole new meaning to "Beauty
with a Purpose" and is an avid human rights activist making her presence known in several local NGO's and charitable
organizations as well as in the world of fashion.
Congratulations to Gabrielle for representing Trinidad and Tobago
very well on the world stage.

Who is Annya Li?
 Annya Li is a a singer/ songwriter/dancer born and raised in the islands of Trinidad and Tobago.
This songbird has developed
a sound and style of expression in her music that is fresh current and genre bending. Her music speaks of positivity, freedom and a celebration of self. ‘I purposely create music that can be a source of strength
for young people, because I believe so much in their ability to be limitless beings, capable of many great achievements and
success’.
Annya’s passion for music started at the age of five and was nurtured into her teen years and
at age fourteen she had already entered numerous school competitions and music festivals and began singing back ground vocals
for a local rock band.
At fifteen she endeavored into local fashion industry and was soon regarded as one of her
island’s top models, being featured on billboards, magazines, in many local and international runway events and music
videos for major recordings artistes like Eric Benet, LL Cool J and Robin Thicke.
At 19 she devoted four years
to academic study at the University of Hertfordshire in England where music took an unfortunate ‘back seat’ however
this inability to pursue music allowed the young artiste to explore and indulge her excitement and love for dance. Dancing
allowed her to understand and appreciate the stage through the eyes of a performer and has given her the opportunity to experience
major events such as dancing with Euro and trance DJ Armin Van Buren and at The 2006 Soccer World Cup in Germany.
In 2006 Annya returned to Trinidad and began working in studio with
local producers creating a collection of work that defined her unique genre bending sound. In her quest to bring cultures
together through her music, her sound finds its origins in hip hop while each song features a distinctive genre; her collection
features sounds of R&B, Jazz, Rock, Eclectic Soul, Trance and the pulsating rhythms, vibes and sounds of her Caribbean
homeland and community.
‘My aim was to truly create music that spoke to the soul; I wanted to put music
out that could take you through those times when you just want to be free and dance or have fun, or be your strength when
you seem to have nothing else to turn to, to be an anthem when you feel misunderstood or to be celebration of something great
in your life. I want my music to be alive in every sense through its audience’.
Annya is a new comer to
the New York music scene but a creative force to be reckoned with, she is the face of a dream pursued and the seeker of success
